We just released the first version of the Stepsize integration for Jira 🎉 You can install it from here.
With this first release we tried to address a fundamental problem we kept hearing about: how difficult it is to make the case for tech debt and work it into the sprint. We tried to address that by helping engineering teams align tech debt with feature work.
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts 🙌
PS: sorry for the delay... The integration was actually ready over a month ago, but we were waiting for Jira to finish their marketplace review process before making it publicly available.

We're going to start by surfacing tech debt to consider in the issue view and allowing links to be created between issues & debt items from there – you can find more details about this in the linked Figma board 🤓
Don't hesitate to share some feedback about our approach if you've got time to do so 🙏

planned
We've started looking into a Jira integration. Our initial approach has been to break it down into a number of user stories which you can find here.
We're thinking of starting with the first panel – Aligning tech debt with feature work – because we think relating tech debt to feature work is a strong proposition to integrate tech debt deeply into planning conversations. The idea is to facilitate the identification of tech debt that should be reduced/addressed while doing feature work to increase the likelihood of having successful sprints and delivering on the roadmap.
But we may also start with a "traditional / basic" Jira integration that allows linking debt items to tickets and vice-versa. Lewis Paul I know this is something you guys mentioned during our kick-off call: a Stepsize<>Jira integration that would work similarly to the Sentry<>Jira integration. If you have a moment I'd love to hear your & the team's thoughts on these user stories – what matters most to you and is most likely to make Stepsize & tech debt a core part of your planning workflow?
No worries if you don't have time, we'll proceed regardless, but we really value your input so throwing this out there 😎🙏
