Assign Items to People

I would love to be able to assign an issue to a team member instead of just a team. We will soon have a tech debt sprint, and since there isn't an integration with Azure DevOps, we were thinking of just using stepsize for the task management. However, we don't have a way of knowing if a person has already started working on that piece of the tech debt, so we would like to be able to assign it to ourselves/someone else.

We plan to integrate more deeply with issue trackers and let them manage things like assignment, so closing this request.
Very excited to bring these new features to you over Q1-Q2 😄

Hi Andy, thanks for reaching out 👋
We're trying to focus on what sets us apart from traditional issue trackers – our deep ties with code & editors – and avoid fulfilling the same needs as existing tools out there.
This applies to issue assignment, status management, etc. Our philosophy is that once you're ready to address a piece of debt, you should add it to your main issue tracker and manage the work there.
But I understand where you're coming from, given we don't integrate with the issue tracker you use ☹️ Integrating with Azure DevOps is on our roadmap though! We're hoping we can ship it in Q4 later this year 🙏

Nick Omeyer: This makes sense. I guess really the root of the issue is I am not sure if someone (anyone) has already started to address the tech debt. Would something like "In Progress" in addition to the current "Resolved" still be set apart?

Andy: Right, yeah I see what you mean. Do you think that would be solved by the Azure integration? I'm thinking that if you add work to resolve tech debt to your main issue tracker, then you'll see who's been assigned to fixing the issue and whether they've started the work in the main tool you use to manage prioritised work.
Or do you think it's important the information be captured inside Stepsize itself rather than a connected tool?
